Terms of Use

The service

Chronology Builder is a free tool for creating case chronologies. It is provided by Sarah Okafor, practising barrister in England and Wales, trading as Chambers of Sarah Okafor. It is free of charge for everyone, including litigants in person, law firms, local authorities and barristers, and your chronology is processed locally on your device.

Not legal advice

The tool formats the information you enter in the way you configure. Nothing in it, and nothing on this site, is legal advice, and using it does not create a barrister-client relationship. Court and tribunal requirements vary by jurisdiction, court, judge and case. You are responsible for checking the rules, practice directions and orders that apply to your hearing.

Your responsibilities

My liability

The tool is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I accept no liability for errors or omissions in any chronology, for loss of data or confidentiality arising from your device or browser, or for any loss arising from reliance on the tool. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Accounts

No account is needed to use the tool. If you create an optional free account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure. I may suspend accounts used unlawfully or in a way that harms the service. My Privacy Policy explains how account data is handled.

Intellectual property

The service, its design and its code belong to Sarah Okafor. Chronologies you create from your own information are yours.

Changes and governing law

I may update the service and these terms; the current version will always be at this address. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
